    hi!
it’s a sad news, remember the lp undisputed attitude?jeff was a real fan of hardcore/pink music.
    rip jeff.

The bridge pickup looks like it’s from a Dan Armstrong. Anyone know the deal with that?

Jeff Henneman was hanging out at a club I used to work at, Nashville Pussy had played, he was making out with multiple ladies including the Nashville Pussy Guitarist. Long story short he took photos with anyone that asked and bullshitted with people that approached him. No rockstar bullshit(accept for the chick thing,ha,ha.) He had no entourage/security, he was there just getting drunk being a “normal” dude. R.I.P. Jeff glad I got to serve ya some drinks!!!!

  4. Ben Edge Says:

Why would you be glad you got to serve him drinks when he died from alcohol-related liver failure?

“We’ve just learned that the official cause of Jeff’s death was alcohol related cirrhosis. While he had his health struggles over the years, including the recent Necrotizing fasciitis infection that devastated his well-being, Jeff and those close to him were not aware of the true extent of his liver condition until the last days of his life. Contrary to some reports, Jeff was not on a transplant list at the time of his passing, or at any time prior to that. In fact, by all accounts, it appeared that he had been improving – he was excited and looking forward to working on a new record.”

Hey Ben, the cause of Jeff Hanneman’s death came out after I had posted on this picture or at least I didn’t read about it till afterwards. Anyhow I wasn’t being a sarcastic dick, even though it now reads like that.
It’s a bummer he died of liver failure…I was merely stoked that Jeff was a down to earth guy and hanging out with people at the bar. R.I.P.

    Ben,
Nice comment about the drinking issue. Another sad loss for the world of heavy music, and the culprit is always the same thing.

As for the pick-up question. That does look like an early Dan Armstrong pick-up, but it is probably just a “blade” humbucker. Many companies make these in single coil and double coil. Some even combine four blades into one humbucker housing: giving the guitar very driven sounds without an active element. Many brands are out there if you are interested. Some older and strange examples include: Mojotone, Schaller, Rautia. Standard fare: DiMarzio, Seymour-D, and even EMG also use blades under a plastic housing. Hanneman could have taken off the housing element and left the ‘blades’ bare. In any case the DA pick-ups would be awkward as they have pins that slide into position when the pick-ups are dropped into the body.

    Sorry to geek out here!
