NO DELUSIONS: CHICAGO HARDCORE DOCUMENTARY
February 11th, 2013 by Larry

“Hardcore bands from the Midwest are generally overlooked by the rest of the world. Regardless, Chicago has a strong scene that has consistently chosen to do do its own thing instead of mimicking what is popular elsewhere. Chicago bands traditionally make honest music without any notion that they will be the next breakout band.”

NO DELUSIONS examines the past 20 years of Chicago hardcore punk with an emphasis on how it has evolved into scene it is today.

Full trailer coming Spring 2013.

Background music is “On the Fringe” by BOILING OVER.

The Midwest is not overlooked as they have given us some of the most important bands to ever walk the land. Kudos to Pacific Time Zone.

I really look forward to this one especially after the All Ages Boston documentary that left me quite disappointed. I hope the editing will be handled more creatively (this has nothing to do with budget).
Is there a website to keep track of it ?

  3. Ben Edge Says:

Anyone else feel bad for Bhopal Stiffs, Pegboy and Screeching Weasel for coming out too late to be in the You Weren’t There doc and too early to be in this doc?

  4. John Scully Says:

Write off the midwest at your own peril. But where would hardcore be without acts like Integrity?
