I’m sure most of you have heard of the passing of Dave Brockie (Oderus Urungus) leader and front man for GWAR. We became great friends early in GWAR’S career. I met him when I was at the 9:30 Club with The Meatmen and his band “Death Piggy” performed – a few years before GWAR was born. Dave told me numerous times if it wasn’t for my constant booking of GWAR into Trenton that the band would have broken up a long long time ago. I just knew that they “Had Something”. The skins didn’t like them in the beginning, but I’ll bet today that everyone of them would proudly say that they saw the first GWAR show outside of their native Richmond – DC area when they opened for the very first Danzig show ever at City Gardens. Here’s a full GWAR concert from City Gardens – this is one of the earlier shows, and I believe the first time Danielle “Slymenstrya Hyman” performed with them. It’s a funny ass show, 53 minutes long. After this show, all 12-13 of them stayed over at the farmhouse I was living in at the time in Newtown PA. We bonded instantly, and later I would tour manage the band across the USA and Canada. I was with them when they were busted in the Carolina’s for “pornography” and helped get him bailed out of jail overnight into the next morning. The tour continued the next day in Atlanta. Thanks, Dave Brockie – for all the fun we had together and for unleashing GWAR unto Trenton and to the World. – Randy Now

I’m sure the copy quoted below was prepared before the addition of The Almighty JUDGE to the bill. It looks like Joe has put together another incredible weekend of Hardcore revelry. —Ed DCXX

Lets get excited about Sick Of It All finally playing TIH!!! Returning to TIH after a few years off is our friends in Ceremony. We will also have annual fan favorites Cold World and Wisdom In Chains keeping the PAHC scene on top at TIH. H20, Bane, Ringworm and Rival Mob can’t seem to say no TIH after the last 3 years have been great sets for those bands.

Defeater is making their TIH Debut while No Redeeming Social Value is performing a 25th anniversary set with the return of Mike Dixon, original part of the vocal duo. This is not a reunion but the band hasn’t performed with Mike since ’97. NYHC legends Absolution are set to show the new generation what the Old School has to offer. This year’s fest has plenty of other planned activities that will be disclosed in early June. In the meantime – get your tickets now. —TIHC Crew
