Wasn’t this their last show? So badass! I was there. They covered the Partridge Family theme and you couldn’t even tell what it was. Good OLD days!

  2. Ed Says:

I think you’re thinking of this show from August, 1989:
Youth Of Today, Bold, Gorilla Biscuits, Underdog, Insted, Judge, Chain Of Strength: Fenders Long Beach, CA 8-4-89

  3. Tom Says:

Youth of today were a better band in 89
With slammy on drums and just porcell on guitar

No need for 2 guitars . And Ritchie Birkenhead was never a good guitarist

  4. Tom Says:

Yeah, two guitars could have been great if well-executed. Sammy definitely put the band on another level!

  5. One Family Says:

Ritchie is there with the fist pumps and high fives . Crucial.

This was my favorite period for Youth of Today, and Ritchie was awesome. This show was the turning point for Southern California straight edge. I think this was the same visit where Youth of Today, Uniform Choice, and others played in Vadim from Half Off’s garage for about 30 people. Amazing. Thank you for posting and allowing me to relive this.
